Map the current data before comparing products: students, classes, subjects, terms, grades, absences, messages, and documents. Then ask each candidate to demonstrate the same workflows with realistic school data.
A successful replacement also needs a transition plan. Decide what will be migrated, what will be archived, who validates the results, and how teachers and families will be supported during the first term.
