Google Classroom can be easy to start with, but a school may eventually need a broader academic system. Before replacing it, separate the simple classroom workflow from the services that need stronger institutional ownership.
Inventory the content that must move: classes, students, assignments, submissions, feedback, and shared files. Confirm which items can be exported, which need manual review, and which should be archived instead of copied.
The replacement should also be tested from the student, teacher, and administration perspectives. A new interface is not enough if the school still needs separate tools for grades, attendance, calendars, and family communication.

What a good LMS should really cover
- A documented inventory and migration plan
- Class, assignment, submission, and feedback continuity
- A clear grade and attendance workflow
- Permissions that fit students, teachers, and administrators
- A pilot with real users before the final switch
